The City of Warrenton is very proud of our police officers, staff, and volunteers. As you can see below, the WPD has a combined total years of expertise and experience of 172 years!  Add in my experience and our total is 205 years!

Jim Pierce, Sergeant

Promoted to Sergeant on February 14, 2017, retired from the Oregon State Police, previously Police Sergeant with the WPD in 1988, Reserve Officer for one month then hired as a full-time officer.

Dylan McCoy, Sergeant

Is from the area, was promoted to Sergeant in August 2024. Is an OC and less lethal instructor, a Firearms Instructor, and a Field Training Officer as well.

Started as a Reserve Officer in 1997, took a break to work for OYA then was hired full-time in 2013. He is a Firearms Instructor, OC and Less-Lethal Instructor, and a Field Training Officer.

Christina Trujillo, Police Officer

Ofc. Trujillo is new to law enforcement, but not the criminal justice system as she was previously employed at the Naselle Youth Camp in Washington. She has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Portland State University and is from Astoria.

Dan Carpenter, Detective

Ofc. Carpenter is an Army veteran and started his career in Law Enforcement in New York State and was hired in January 2020. After taking a 1.5-year break he was rehired in October 2022. He currently is assigned as our Detective.

CCO Salinas was previously a police officer with the Cannon Beach PD and is Warrenton's first CCO. CCO Salinas is retired from the US Coast Guard.
