Police Officer - Entry or Lateral

Greetings,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Police Officer with the Warrenton Police Department! Police Work is a very rewarding profession and the Warrenton Police Department is a great place to work!

The Warrenton Police Department is utilizing the testing process through the National Testing Network (NTN). Other than a few documents, all test scores and applications will be submitted through the NTN. The NTN will allow you to submit one application but to share it with multiple police agencies that are hiring. To learn more about the NTN and join the NTN as an applicant go to:

The current hiring process for the WPD was opened on September 10, 2021, and will remain open until filled but will have this timeline for first review:

• October 1, 2021, conduct our first review of applications. Make sure you have completed and sent the application, testing, and other documents to the WPD or through your NTN account by September 30, 2021 at 5:00pm.
• October 9, 2021, partner with Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office and have applicants who need to run the ORPAT. Note: lateral candidates with a basic certificate and applicants who can provide an ORPAT time taken within the last six months can get a waiver from taking the ORPAT
• October 15, 2021: Oral Board Interviews at City Hall (scheduling preference given to those coming from outside the area and depending on number of apps, we may have a 2nd date). There may be a virtual option as well.
• Conditional offer(s) made pending background, medical exam, drug screen, and psychological exam.
• Possible Chief’s interview and Final Offer.

Candidates MUST:

• Create an NTN Account, complete Frontline National Test for Law Enforcement, complete NTN Online Application, NTN Personal History Questionnaire, then allow the WPD access in NTN.
• Download and complete the City of Warrenton Job Application and Pre-Employment Questionnaire from the City Website (www.ci.warrenton.or.us/jobs) and then upload them to your NTN Account or email them to the WPD at policechief@ci.warrenton.or.us.
