The City of Warrenton is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill vacancies for Police Officer.
All qualified candidates must take the FrontLine National test (https://nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/index.cfm) and have a valid passing ORPAT. Candidates must also complete a City of Warrenton Law Enforcement application & Pre-Employment Questionnaire found at ci.warrenton.or.us/jobs.

Salary Information: $4,192.46 to $5,484.53 per month

Department Overview: The City of Warrenton was founded in 1899 with the WPD starting just after the turn of the Century in 1902. The WPD is responsible for policing services in Warrenton, Hammond, and Fort Stevens or a total coverage area of 19.4 square miles. The department has a Chief, Sergeant, Detective, K-9 Officer, 8-Patrol Officers, 2-Reserve Police Officers, 2-Clerks, and one part-time Clerk. The WPD is a very Community-Oriented department participating in numerous programs and events throughout the year.
City/County/Area Information: The City of Warrenton is located in the very Northwest corner of Oregon in Clatsop County at the mouth of the Columbia River. Warrenton is noted for being by Fort Clatsop, the winter residence of the 1805-1806 Lewis & Clark expedition.
Population: Warrenton has around 6,000 residents and a daily population of 10,000 to 20,000 depending on the season. Logging, fishing (both commercial and sport), tourism, and a large shopping corridor (Walmart, Costco, Fred Meyers, Home Depot, and many other businesses) along Hwy 101 provide the economic base for this scenic coastal community. Warrenton is located between the large tourist towns of Astoria and Seaside.
Job Requirements
Age: 21 years of age at the time of hire
US Citizen: Must be a US Citizen
High School Grad/GED: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
Valid OREGON State Driver's License: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license within one year of hire.
College: College Credits and/or Degree Preferred but not Required
Academy Certification: To be considered a Lateral Candidate you must possess an Out-of-State Basic Certificate and be able to obtain an Oregon Basic Police Certificate or an Out-of-State Basic Certification within 180 days of hire (as long as DPSST PCOD Course is available during that time).
Convictions: No Felony convictions and no pattern or repeat misdemeanor convictions of violence, substance abuse, or Domestic Violence.
