Countywide Citizen's Police Academy Announced

Six local law enforcement agencies are joining together to present the 2018 Citizen Police Academy. The Academy is scheduled to start with Tuesday sessions on April 17th, 6pm to 9pm and run each Tuesday through June 11th. An additional session will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 8am to 5pm for hands-on firearms training. Meeting locations will vary and include Seaside Police Department, Cannon Beach Police Department, Clatsop County Sheriff's Office, Clatsop County Courthouse, Warrenton Police Department, and Seaside City Hall. WPD Implements Naloxone Overdose Program

Warrenton, OR – The Warrenton Police Department is now carrying Naloxone (Narcan) overdose kits in each vehicle and becomes the first department in Clatsop County to equip patrol officers with the life-saving drug. An additional kit is located at the station in the evidence processing area adjacent to the evidence room. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist used to reverse the effects of opiates such as heroin, morphine, oxycodone, and fentanyl overdoses.

Rental House Scams In Warrenton

The WPD has received three calls on a Rental House Scam. The Scammer is posting a house "for rent" on Craigslist that they do not own or have no control over. The houses are actually "for sale" on other sites and the suspect will take the images and information for their post. The suspect will then try to illicit money or personal information from the victim.

Warrenton Police to Host Movie Night In the Park

The Warrenton Police Department invites you and your family to our 1st Annual MOVIE IN THE PARK!!!

On Friday August 26, 2016 starting around 8:15pm we will be showing the Kevin James movie ZOOKEEPER on a large outdoor screen and sound system.

The location of the movie will be across from the Warrenton City Park in the large grass field behind the Ohana Media Group radio stations at 285 SW Main Ct. (between 2nd & 3rd and Main Ct & Alder)

Warrenton Police Serve Search Warrant Find Drugs, Property

Warrenton, OR – On July 16, 2016 Warrenton Police Officer Robert Wirt was sent to the Fred Meyer Store to check on an RV that was camping illegally in the parking lot. Officer Wirt contacted a female who identified herself as Tiffany HOWARD but it was later determined that her name was actually Shyann HOWARD (age 29) and Tiffany was her sister. While Officer Wirt was waiting for HOWARD to get her ID he observed a syringe with a brownish substance lying on the bed. Officer Wirt also observed evidence of drug use on HOWARD and HOWARD admitted she uses drugs.

Warrenton PD Arrest Three from a Bicycle Theft Ring

Warrenton, OR – Since July 25, 2016 the Warrenton Police Department has taken numerous bicycle theft reports from Fort Stevens Campground and the KOA Campground. Officers started increasing patrols in and around the campgrounds as well as looking for the bicycles and attempting to locate any information on the thefts. On July 30, 2016 officers received a tip on the location of some bicycles and were able to recover five bicycles. Some of the bicycles were positively identified as being stolen.

WPD Arrests North Carolina Murder Suspect

Warrenton, OR – On July 8, 2016 at 8:05pm a male subject knocked on the back door of the Warrenton Police Station. An officer contacted the man who commented that the police were “looking for me” and that he was “wanted for murder.” The man identified himself at David Isaiah Godwin age 25 from Newport, North Carolina. The officer check with Dispatch and found that Godwin had an arrest warrant out of North Carolina for “Homicide” and was listed as “Armed and Dangerous.”
