Code Violations

The Community Development Department coordinates enforcement of the city nuisance and development codes. The fillable form below will help us address possible violations to the city codes. But what are the types of violations we typically work to resolve?

Health and Safety Codes

Properties in Warrenton should be maintained in a condition that does not negatively impact the health and safety of community members. These types of violations may include open vaults, wells, unsecured buildings, and hazardous debris.  Section 8.16 of the City code outlines all defined nuisances within the City. 

Hazardous Buildings

Buildings that are structurally unsafe often attract problems and can pose a real threat to public safety. The City and State building codes outline a process through which we would work with a property owner to improve the condition or remove the structure.  Section 15.08 defines the abatement process for hazardous building.
