Press Release - Burn Ban Update 9-11-2020
EXTREME FIRE DANGER- All burning within the city limits of Warrenton is PROHIBITED until further notice. This includes open burning, burn barrels, and recreational campfires. This is due to the recent fire weather forecast of gusty east winds and high temperatures that will increase fire danger in our area. Remember to call Warrenton Fire Department’s Burn Permit Hotline for the latest burn information. This will be in effect through the week of 9/7 to 9/11/2020.
Update 9-11-2020
After much consideration of the local weather and wind change, the Warrenton Fire Department has extended the BURN BAN thought the weekend (9/11/2020) to Monday (9/14/2020). At that point we will evaluate current weather, fuel moisture and fire behavior to decide as to lift or continue the burn ban. This burn ban includes the following- Campfires, burn barrels, open burning, charcoal BBQ’s, permitted and unpermitted “HOT WORK”, and any activity that can produce sparks.
