The City of Warrenton, Oregon has designated three finalists for the position of City Manager: Marc Howatt, Donald Kewley, and Esther Moberg. The community will have an opportunity to meet the finalists during an in-person round table discussion the evening of Tuesday, July 26th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Warrenton Community Center, 170 SW 3rd, Warrenton, OR 97146.
Marc Howatt, current Project Engineer-Senior Civil Inspector for HDR, Inc, has 5.5 years of local government management experience. Previously he served as the Public Works Right-of-Way Inspector for DRW, LLC, Public Works Director and Interim City Administrator for the City of Molalla, OR, and Public Works Director for the City of Warrenton, OR. Mr. Howatt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Boise State University. He has proudly served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Howatt says, “It’s an honor to be chosen as a finalist for the City Manager vacancy. The north coast has always been near and dear to me.”
Donald Kewley, most recently a Senior Risk Manager for Allied Resources Technical Consultants-Avangrid Renewables, has 3.5 years of local government management experience. Previously he served as Senior Broadband Consultant for Magellan Advisor’s, Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Palm Coast, FL, AFN Operations Manager for the City of Ashland, OR, Senior Project Manager for KellyMitchell – Pacific Gas & Electric Company, and Project Manager of Capital Projects for MJM Management Group in San Francisco, CA. Mr. Kewley holds a Master’s degree in Business and Management from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico. He has proudly served in the California and Oregon Army National Guard. Mr. Kewley says, “I am excited for the opportunity to be of service and develop community partnerships that will shape the landscape of Warrenton for future generations.”
Esther Moberg, current Library Director and Public Information Officer for the City of Seaside, OR, has 9 years of local government management experience. Previously she served as Youth Services Librarian & Volunteer Manager for Lane Library District/Creswell Library, Assistant Librarian for Gearhart Elementary School, Head Librarian for Free Lutheran Bible School and Seminary, and Library Assistant for Astoria Public Library. Ms. Moberg holds a Master’s degree in Library Science from Emporia State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Administration from University of Northwestern. Ms. Moberg says, “Warrenton is a wonderful town with many unique possibilities. I’m excited for the opportunity to work there.”
