YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARY ASSISTANT: Salary Range 13: $1,832.90 - $2,300.83 monthly + benefits. Part Time (25 Hours/.625 FTE) Nonexempt position. The Warrenton Community Library (WCL) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a part-time Library Assistant Youth Coordinator. This position is primarily responsible for implementing all WCL youth programs including storytime, youth clubs, and the annual Summer Reading Program with assistance from the Library Administrative Assistant, and under the supervision of the Library Director. The ideal candidate has experience working with children of all ages, has a basic knowledge of youth literature, and generally loves helping to promote literacy in our community’s youth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license
  • Keyboarding/Windows proficiency
  • Able to create and maintain positive working relationships with other staff
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with adults and children
  • Ability to be organized and flexible
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Young Adult and Children’s literature preferred
  • Good sense of humor a must

 

The Library Assistant Youth Coordinator is part of a team that ensures a positive experience for patrons, including teens and children, by engaging in conversation and connecting users with good books while promoting services and leading youth library programs.
